About Accumar
Accumar was incorporated in 1988 from a partnership that began
building Cable Lifts for high bank waterfront owners in the early eighties. The
main business of the shop was yacht design and construction, with the
occasional tram system worked into the schedule. Eventually, the Cable and
Track Lift systems became the primary focus.
Accumar designs and builds primarily in metal, wood, and
plastics. The machine shop creates, from scratch, most of the mechanical
components used in the Cable & Track Lift systems, including: the gondolas,
hoists, gate interlocks, speed governors, safety brakes, control systems, and
structural steel. Woodwork is also done in-house to finish cars and
prefabricate decks.
Accumar designs its own components in-house. Standard
electrical and mechanical components are blended into each design as required
to make them work optimally. While no two Cable or Track Lifts look the same,
each has common components.
Every
craftsman has input in the creation of a Cable or Track Lift, as they are
handcrafted and built to suit individual situations. Accumar is a profit
sharing company; everyone has a stake in the success of the product.
